I'm raising money to cover vet bills for my cat, Cid. After a lot of tests, he has been diagnosed with epilepsy. This will help to cover the cost of specialist appointments, testing, hospital stays, and medication.

Cid has been officially diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. The good news is that this means he doesn't have any tumors or serious infections to contend with. The bad news is that this means that we're now in the uphill battle to get his seizures under control.
He is back in the emergency hospital for the next 24 to 36 hours because he had over 10 seizures in a 24 hour period. While we're glad he's where he needs to be to get help, the cost has now increased well over our $8000 limit. What this means is that Cid still really needs your help to ensure that he continues to get the care he desperately needs!
Thank you so much to everyone who has already contributed. It means the world to us.
Cid is a rescue cat who is very near and dear to his family's hearts. He was found on the street in October of 2021 as a little 8-week-old kitten. At the time he was just skin and bones and covered in fleas. We brought him home, gave him a flea bath and something to eat, and he's been ours ever since.
He's named after the recurring character Cid from the Final Fantasy video game franchise. Just like his namesake, he is a rough and rowdy guy with a heart of gold. While he might be the youngest cat in the house, he definitely thinks he is the boss of the other two cats, Foggy and Murdock, and our dog Chico. He is the friendliest cat you will ever meet and loves meeting new people (especially if they bring him a treat).
Since he started having seizures, he has been in and out of the vet. Aside from his episodes, he seems to be a perfectly normal one-year-old cat, so more extensive and specialist testing has been required to try to diagnose the underlying cause. He has been to a pet neurologist -- which I did not even know existed before now! The testing, which includes an MRI, is extremely expensive, as are the stays at the pet hospital.
Our family has had a lot of unexpected financial burdens this year. In August, we had a massive water leak in our home and were displaced for nearly a month. Then, our fence fell down, and we had to get it replace to ensure the safety of our dog in the back yard. On top of all of that, one of Cid's guardians is going back to school in 2023 to get their master's degree. Of course, we are facing the same rising costs as everyone else, so the massive and unexpected vet bills are hitting hard.
Cid is an irreplaceable member of the family, and we are doing all we can to make sure he has a long, happy life. All we want is to find out what is going on with the little guy so that we can bring him home and he can get back to normal in the place where he is most comfortable. Whether we reach our goal or not, every little bit helps, and we will be more than grateful for any help we receive!
