I'm raising money to save a dream. This coffee shop was created to bring the community and visitors together. It has quickly become an iconic place in Walhalla, where people of all ages can be a community.
Mountain Mocha has only been in business for about 3 years but has quickly become iconic in the town of Walhalla, South Carolina, and the surrounding area. Located in the middle of town, the coffee shop has been an integral part of Walhalla's revitalization efforts. It has a large and growing fan base, including my three sons and me.
The founder is having some personal issues, or there would be no discussion of closing Mountain Mocha's doors. Two reasons the shop is still in operation right now are: 1)The coffee shop is the sole income for the owner and his family. 2) The owner does not wish to see his dream die so quickly. While we are praying for the owner and his family, my sons and I do not want to see Mountain Mocha closed. We would love the opportunity to run the business with the same degree of care that the owner has shown the community. Also, there has been such a push for original small businesses in Walhalla that many long-time residents believe it would be a shame if this quaint coffee shop were to be replaced by a larger operation, which may not share the love for Walhalla the way Mountain Mocha has.
The funding you provide will assist in providing at least a down payment for the coffee shop, any licensing and other certifications to change the business over to my sons and myself, rent for the building, and the purchase of new stock to get the shop ready for a grand re-opening. This fundraiser is only for $10,000. But actually, it may take six or seven times that much for this dream to continue its reality.
All of my sons and I have had experience with both retail and food service. We also have several people willing to help us with this venture. It would be an honor to continue to serve in our small community. Thank you for considering funding this business opportunity.
If for any reason my sons and I are unable to obtain Mountain Mocha, the funds raised here will still be used to benefit the community in some way.
