Hi, I’m Saturn (he/they), and I am currently residing on stolen Lummi Nation and Nooksack land. I am asking for aid from my community. I have been struggling with gender dysphoria for well over a decade, and have been researching to prepare for this surgery since I was in middle school. I am chronically ill and disabled, so I am currently unemployed. It is extremely difficult to save up funds, let alone the amount necessary for this operation. I am unable to bind my chest due to disability, so most chest-flattening alternatives to surgery are inaccessible for me, and the ones that are more accessible are not as effective.
I have found a surgeon and team that can help make a chest that is in line with how I see myself, but I need some assistance when it comes to paying for the procedure, travel, and recovery period.
Upon being outed to my transphobic, conservative family, they were explicit about their intentions to never financially support my transition. For much of my life, I have been in a state of survival mode, and I know that top surgery will be a step to some kind of rest, relief, and LIVING!! Additionally, though this procedure's main purpose is to ease gender dysphoria, chest reconstruction will also serve as a preventative measure for breast cancer, as it is prevalent in my close relatives.

EDIT: WOW, thank you for coming through for me!! I am scheduled to go to the initial consultation in 2024! I am hoping to move forward with a different surgeon than originally planned. Unlike for the previous surgeon I had in mind, my insurance covers at least a portion of the procedure, but right now I only have broad estimates of the costs. The goal may change again, when I receive more exact info. And whether its funds, kind messages, or just sharing this, having the support from my amazing community means everything to me!! Thank you again <3<3 <3
