What is an adapted toy?
An adapted toy is a toy that has been altered for use by individuals living with disabilities. Toys are rarely designed with the needs of those with different abilities in mind. By making simple modifications to the electronics of toys, they can be enjoyed by children and adults with limited fine motor skills and physical abilities.

Who is Santa's Little Hackers?
Santa's Little Hackers is a seasonal event put on by MaxMods, a Colorado-based nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation.
MaxMods was born from a group of therapists, parents and techies brainstorming how to make a difference in the lives of children and adults.
The goal of MaxMods is to provide maximum modifications to disabled individuals by adapting the world to make it accessible to them.
Why use the word 'Hackers'?
Some people use the word 'hacker' today to identify people who do bad things with computers like write computer viruses or break into computer systems. The original connotation of hacker was someone who kept trying different techniques with electronics and computers until they found a way to make it work. We adapt toys to make them work for people who need adaptation.
We often imagine Santa's Little Helpers being elves who make toys. Well, these "Santa's Little Hackers" are elves who adapt toys for people who need a little assistance.

MaxMods is a Colorado-based nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. All donations are used to fund the activities of the non profit.
