About Me

Hi! My name is Samantha Musumeci and I am 34 years young ;) I am an extremely proud mother of 2 fabulous teens. I'm blessed to be employed at the nations #1 hospital located in Boston, and I reside about 20 minutes outside of the city. This year I felt very strongly about making major changes in my life, trying new things and discovering places I'd never been. Upon researching various locations, I stumbled across the Habitat site and I instantly knew this is something I needed to be involved in. So, I'm counting down the days until my aweseome trip to El Salvador in July where I'll be able to help a family's dream home become reality. I'm very lucky to have the opportunity to be a part of this experience, as I know not everyone has the time or resources to participate, but thankfully I have a group of supporters behind me that are going to help make my goal and this trip be so rewarding. This may be my first trip but it definitely will not be my last!!!

More Info

Home to almost 6 million people, El Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America. Still struggling with the consequences of a 12-year civil war and constantly affected by natural disasters such as earthquakes and tropical storms, almost 3 million Salvadorans live in inadequate housing.

Since 1992, Habitat for Humanity El Salvador has provided more than 7,400 housing solutions, providing simple, decent and affordable shelter for more than 37,000 Salvadorians.

We invite you to join our Global Village team in partnering with families in need to help build safe, affordable, decent homes. Working together, we can create positive change. Thank you for becoming a part of the Global Village experience!

Global Village is Habitat for Humanity’s international volunteer program. Teams travel to over 40 countries to work alongside communities, build housing solutions, and experience local culture. Our goal is to change the lives of the people we serve, as well as the lives of the volunteers.

About Habitat for Humanity International

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 1,300 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
