Update #2

In 2010 two people changed everything and this photo explains so much. In this picture sophomore Taylor Swanson was jumping to earn a medal at the largest track meet in the country (the kansas state meet) while Senior Brandon Bolte looked on. That day Bolte no heighted using the two poles we brought for him and Swanson cleared 9'6" on the one pole we had for her (pictured here) to earn her first of three state medals and a fifth place finish. They were our first state qualifiers and she was our first medalist. Since this time we have had multiple state qualifiers and placed many athletes on the podium because of the poles we have been able to use. Now, our athletes have access to all of the poles (sometimes up to 10) they may need during this meet.
This weekend we had a huge boost in our fundraiser thanks to people like Timi Sankey, Carrie Streicher, Mark and Lorraine Turner and Lindsay Garber. Much like Swanson and Bolte, you are the type of people that change everything! Your generosity means so much. Thank you everyone!

More Info

Years ago we began investing in better poles for the pole vaulters in Salina and the results have been incredible.  Salina Pole Vault has seen multiple state placers for the past five years and has qualified at least three athletes to the state meet for five years as well. These athletes are making memories that will last a lifetime. Some of them go on to continue to jump like current Fort Hays State Tiger Halie Turner and former Wichita State Shocker Taylor Swanson. Others frequently revisit the school, pole vault camps or practice in order to make sure the success continues.

In order to keep this tradition going we are looking to build our own inventory of poles for the future.  This will ensure that athletes and coaches in Salina have the best possible chance to succeed in meeting their goals.

HELP these athletes continue to make gains and create magical moments like current Salina South Cougar Tori Maxton and Salina Central Mustang Blake Olmsted who as underclassmen finished their seasons with some big-time records (Maxton cleared 10'6 to place 4th - setting a new school record) and state qualifying (Olmsted jumped 13' at regionals in 2016 - improving his PR almost 4' in one year) jumps.

Update #1

We have our first donor! Help us keep the momentum going. Just think, we could be selling you cookie dough that will go bad cause you'll forget about it or a discount card that you won't use. Instead, you can just support Salina Pole Vault the easy way and help these student athletes meet their goals!
