Update #5

Hello to all of our donors!

As we have hit our one year milestone in standing up and running a fully functioning Health Center in Jatheke, Pakistan, we wanted to provide you all with a quick update on progress.

The center has seen 9,700 patients over the course of the year and has conducted ECG's, Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose monitoring, echocardiography.

We have provided free medication to all patients costing roughly PKR 1,50,000 (approx $800) per month.

We have a specialty doctors clinic held weekly to diagnose and provide treatment or outline a treatment plan for a broader range of medical ailments. Then specialty doctors clinic includes a cardiologist and gastroenterologist, general surgery, ENT & Orthopedic visiting throughout the month.

On staff we have a doctor available 6 days a week, 1 nurse, 1 pharmacist, 1 ward boy, 1 guard and 1 cleaner.

As the need has emerged, we have started to expand the facility to build an area for Gynecological services and Neonatal care. The cost for this expansion is estimated at PKR 25,00,000 (25 Lakh, approx $13,500); we have raised PKR 10,00,000 (10 Lakh) already and hope to achieve the remaining amount in the next few months so construction can complete in 4 - 6 months.

Your support will be greatly appreciated to help us achieve this target!

More Info

As many of you are aware, our dear Babaji (Salamat Malik) departed for his final journey on January 19, 2021.

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

What many of you may not know was that he fought a long battle with dialysis for 14 years with a huge smile, never complaining and with tremendous willpower.  He spent his lifetime helping people that were less fortunate in ways that are extraordinary.  Everyday we are receiving calls from strangers telling us how Baba helped them and made a difference in their lives.

In order to continue his legacy, our family is working to standup a medical facility in his hometown village of Jatheke (near Daska, Sialkot) which is a remote and underserved area with a large population.  We hope this will cater to nearby villages and towns as well.

In this facility we are planning to provide no-cost medical care and medications to the locals.  His son Dr. Zeeshan Malik (Cardiologist at Punjab Medical Center) will personally oversee the operations of the facility and will host weekly no cost checkups for the locals and monthly medical camps with the help of his peers.

We will continuously provide project updates as we get started.  We have already identified a location to operate as the medical center and are finalizing the details.

We are also making it a priority to staff the facility from the village preferably the educated females that struggle to find employment elsewhere.

For this project we are launching a Fundly site in which we are looking to raise an initial investment amount and a monthly amount to manage the cost and maintenance of the facility, equipment, staff and medications.

We hope you will consider making any type of Sadaqah/Zakat donation you feel comfortable with on an ongoing basis.  No donation is too small, with all of our efforts we can make this happen!

Thank you all in advance for your support and contribution.  May Allah SWT reward you.

Update #4

Hello Friends and Family,

As today would have marked Baba’s 75th Birthday, we wanted to take a moment to provide an update on the great work we have collectively done by standing up the Salamat Health Care Center in Jatheke Pakistan.

The center was established in February 2021 and to date with all of your help and support we have:

⁃ Raised over $26,000
⁃ Stood up and renovated a health care center providing medical treatment and medications to the locals
⁃ Added an echocardiogram machine
⁃ Seen and treated over 2400 patients
⁃ Conducted 70+ echocardiogram’s, 50+ angiography’s and 11 angioplasties
⁃ 1 patient was selected as deserving for a coronary artery bypass grafting in Lahore

We have also hired on duty staff including Doctors, Nurses, guards, receptionist and pharmacy attendants.

6 Specialists are making weekly trips to the center to provide additional medical support.

We are so grateful that all of you have helped us keep Baba’s legacy alive and ask for your continued support.

To provide assistance, please donate!

Thank you!
