We raise money for safe sleep spaces and other safety items for infants and small children. We spread the word about SIDS prevention and the importance of safe sleep spaces and NOT co-sleeping with your infant!
Halos and Hogs began as a way to honor our 4 month old grandson, Lukas Ryan Beaumont Jr., who we lost to SIDS December 27, 2016.
As part of our healing, and dealing with our grief, Papa wanted to do a motorcycle ride in his honor and we decided we wanted to do something to make a difference. So with the blessing of his mom and dad, Carrie and Lukas, we decided to make it legitimate and start an organization.
Our goal is to raise money to provide items that keep children safe, to families in need. And to provide assistance to families affected by SIDS. And of course, bring awareness to safe sleep practices to prevent SIDS.
The main thing we provide are safe sleep spaces for babies; cribs, pack and plays, and co-sleepers.
Co-sleepers have helped dramatically in reducing the SIDS rate. We also provide things like car seats, cabinet locks, outlet plugs, baby gates, door handle covers, and baby monitors. All things to prevent injury or death to small children. For families affected by SIDS, we assist in funeral expenses And help them find other resources they might need.
We are new, yes, but we strive to work hard to make a difference. We still have a lot of growing to do. In 2017 we had our first annual Halos And Hogs Motorcycle Ride where we raised enough money to make this an official 501(c)(3) charity. In 2020 we are already hard at work planning our fourth annual Halos And Hogs Motorcycle Ride, tentatively scheduled for September 19, the Snake Saturday Parade in North Kansas City and the 4 of July Parade in Sugar Creek! We also have other ideas in the works.
So, if you have our shirt, wear it with pride. Please spread the word! Know that you are supporting a good cause. We appreciate it!
