To provide the elders in the Huichol indigenous community in Mexico funds to travel to sacred sites to make offerings in protection of foreseen difficulties for the people of the United States.
There is a group of spiritual elders in the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico who for many generations have been doing the work of healing the earth. These Huichol elders often meet in spiritual retreat and receive visions of the state of the world. When they see a disturbance coming they will go into periods of fasting and prayer and offerings to sacred sites to bring things back into equilibrium. At this time they are seeing a big wave of discordant energy coming to the United States and they want to make a pilgrimage to do offerings for our well being.
We are asking you to help them get the money to travel to travel to offering sites. We need only $1,500 which is a very small price to pay for such a monumental service. Your donation is gratitude for this work done on our behalf.
The Huichol nation (they call themselves Wixáritari) is one of few indigenous tribes that resisted colonization. They live today throughout Mexico, and their sacred land, a desert in the north known as Wirikuta, has been threatened for years by a Canadian company which wants to start a mining operation that would have a big negative impact on the environment of this sacred land. Your offering supports the cultural well being of this valiant community which brings light to the world even in the face of threat from it.
