Update #2

Hitting $10,000 was a big goal for me. But now the stakes are higher.

It's hard to believe, but I'm officially in the second half of the Run to Reach marathons. With 16 races now under my belt, I try to take a moment to reflect on where my running has taken me. Before the Run to Reach idea was even hatched, I completed my first marathons in Japan and France. This past month, I found myself partnering with local NGO projects and crossing finish lines in Kyrgyzstan and sierra Leone. The support I've received along the way has been immense, and I am incredibly grateful. Now, as I return to Atlanta for a month of recovering, fundraising and spreading the message of Run to Reach, I think about the big challenge ahead of us: raising $100,000 by June of 2020. This goal is as big and daunting as ever, but let's start with a smaller piece: $20,000 by the end of this June!

How? Donate! Spread the word! Do both!

Thanks for keeping up with my journey and I'll check back in soon.

Thank you so much for visiting my Fundly page!

In January 2019, I will be embarking on a year and a half long mission, running 30 marathons in 30 countries before she turns 30. The kickoff of the campaign will be in Oman – and 786 miles later, I will have completed marathons in Western Sahara, Guatemala, Mongolia, Sierra Leone, Chile, Antarctica, Kyrgyzstan etc.

However, this campaign is about much more than my completion of a personal goal before a pivotal birthday…more importantly, it is about using the power of running to inspire and evoke change throughout 30 countries, across all seven continents.

The funds donated to my Fundly will be donated directly to each of the 20 organizations I will be fundraising for during this campaign. Each of the 20 charities have been selected based on their level of transparency and impact in the communities they help serve.

I look forward to providing you updates on all of the races and charities I support throughout this marathon journey.

Three upcoming marathons

Two Oceans Marathon  - April 20 2019 - Population Services International

Kyrgyzstan Marathon - May 11 2019- Helvetas

Sierra Leone Marathon - May 26 2019 - Street Child

For more information on each of the 20 organizations, please visit www.runtoreach.com.

Update #1

It’s mid-April, and Run to Reach is well on its way! With thirteen marathons under my belt, I’m getting into the heart of the project. The last few months have taken me to Algeria, Guatemala and the Western Sahara, up volcanoes and across sand dunes, and in contact with some of the most inspirational women, young voices and community leaders I’ve ever met. Plus, we’re getting close to our first fundraising goal: $10,000 going towards impactful organizations in the countries I’ll be visiting! This goal is very much in reach, so let’s reach it before my next marathon: The Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town on April 20. So: donate, share and let’s hit our first landmark of $10,000! Remember, all proceeds go directly to the organizations and make a difference in communities worldwide.
