As many of you know, I spent a year teaching English and traveling throughout Thailand and Southeast Asia. During my travels, I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to volunteer at The Stratton ABC Foundation Childrens home, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
John Cope, who runs the home and foundation, does an incredible job providing the children with the best resources available to him, from the day to day school projects as well as extracuricular activities. He has been able to attract volunteers that keep the children engaged in positive projects within the home, such as murals, music lessons, and a garden which everyone helps to mantain. During my stay, I spent time interacting with the children through English lessons, playing cards (pictured above), sports, assisting in ongoing projects, as well as just hanging out and having fun. However, perhaps most impressive, is that John and his staff have created a genuine sense of home and community for these children, many of which come from unfortunate home conditions.
As I witnessed during my week at the Stratton ABC Home, John and his team focus their resources directly into the foundation, and the children are truly amazing, each of them helpful, polite, and selfless. As some of you may know, in two weeks I will be running the Monster Dash Half Marathon in St. Paul, Minnesota. I ask that you please support my run with a donation - nothing is too small. The USD goes a long way in Thailand, and just a few dollars will really make a difference for these children!!
Further, to cover the 5% wire fee, I will also match 5% of each donation up to $2,000.00

I sincerely thank you all in advance for your support!
