Running for Ewings

Running for Ewings

From Aharon Mendlowitz

I am raising money to help fight Ewings Sarcoma. I was diagnosed with it 15 years ago and luckily survived. Not many get that lucky. Its time to get the cure. And I will be running 8 marathons this year for the cause.

Why is this so important for me.

When I was 15 I was diagnosed with Ewings sarcoma. I was devastated. My entire world crumbling before me. The doctors had no real answer for me and how they would treat me.

I had a rare form or Ewings in the skin. There were not enough cases to give a confident answer as to the route we will take in treatment. In the end, it was decided that I will just be getting 5 years of follow up scans.

Fast forward 15 years I have been given a clean bill of health for over 10 years now. Recently I have been getting into running and ultra distance races. So I decided to make a huge challenge for myself and do as many full marathons and ultras as I can within a year.

I found 8 Races I would like to do. 5 of them are full marathons. 3 of them are ultras: 50K, 85K, 90K. Besides challenging myself I also wanted to run for a cause, it took me some time to figure out what it would be.

Then the lightbulb hit and I realized that I have to run to raise funds for the study of Ewings sarcoma. I want every mile I run to be going to help the advancement for curing Ewings sarcoma.

That is what I am doing here, and I hope by you visiting this page you will get on board with me and help fight the cure.

I decided to raise 1 million because I believe that if I am going to run ultra I will raise ultra.

Please donate and share and help further this special cause.

All the love,

Aaron
