Hotel pool swim workout is done! Doesnt everyone train while on vacation? Now, put your fingers to work and make a donation;) Pretty easy!
On Thursday, March 21, 2013, Paul Freese was diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma. Paul is seeking medical treatment through The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University and locally.
While thankful for great medical insurance, there are a number of expenses (including deductibles) not covered during treatment as well as possible lost income if he needs to take some time off from work. Already, Paul has incurred expenses for tests and travel to North Carolina. These expenses will continue to mount.
So, running, you ask? Pau'ls sister-in-law, Amanda, is an avid runner. She's challenging herself to run 3 half marathon (13.1 miles each = 39.3 miles total) to raise $3930.00 to help out Paul. Why $3930? That will be Paul's approximate age when treatment finishes a year from now.
1. Make a donation with a credit card on this site. Any amount is appreciated, but why not go with $39 to fit the theme?
2. Lace up your own running shoes and ask friends and family to sponsor your own run to show Paul your support. Share the donations either thorugh this website or by mailing us a check.
3. Mail a check made out to "Paul Freese Medical Benefit"...if you know us well enough you'll know Paul's address ;)
We're so close to reaching the halfway point in our fundraising. Could this be the week that we reach that milestone?
Paul has finished two rounds of treatment and is facing this challenge head-on...literally! He has TONS of friends out there who care dearly about him. ONE donation of $39 will put us over the halfway mark. We have $2001 to raise to reach our goal of raising $3930 to help Paul. If just 50 friends gave $40, we'd meet the goal!

With the help of a few big donations this week, we're almost halfway to raising $3,930 to help our brother, son, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend while he focuses on living life!
Wondering how you can help? A donation in any amount will be appreciated. More of a "do-er?" The. Join Paul's Posse and choose a race to do. Ask your friends and family to all support Paul through your fundraising goal. If you want more info, just let me know :)
I put in four miles this morning on the treadmill as thunderstorms were in the forecast. The storms never came. I feel so lucky to have the ability to run and train for these races. Helping others through a hobby is doubly-rewarding.
