THANKS TO YOU ALL I AM MOVING CLOSER TO GOAL!!!

Thanks to your support, For those supporters who donated I am one step closer to reaching my goal!

Tax exempt status pending. Please check with your tax advisor.

As you know, TEXAS MED CENTERS the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Houston Methodist Hospital are trying an experimental approach that has limited data but so far shown to be very hopeful in effectively fighting the cancer by transplanting the liver in combination with a unique chemotherapy approach for this cancer. I just returned from my second visit this time including an unexpected 3 day hospital stay due to low blood platelets from the chemo to ensure all is good to go, then hopefully we can move forward. It could take several months to await a liver. I will be spending a total of about 4 months in Houston pre and post transplant.

I am grateful for this new treatment option but would like to get it moving more quickly than these things require so I can get my health back and beat the survival odds into years 2, 3 and beyond..

How you've helped: I'm raising funds to help cover home assistance, nursing & medical travel to MD Anderson Cancer Center is Houston. Any unused funds will go to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.

I look forward to sharing more of the progress and treatments aided by this support in future email updates to supporters on this site as well as FB.

Love and best wishes,

Rod

Update #1

Today is a big day. The Tumor Board of MD Anderson and Houston Methodist specialists will discuss my case for the experimental treatment the University of TX MD Anderson Cancer has developed for Cholangiocarcinoma. I was told by my coordinator in Houston that she's confident that they will come up with a treatment plan for me. Thanks to all of you for your support.
