Naomi Psavko has tragically been diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Your contribution will help this sweet mama of two young children and her loving husband get through this incredibly difficult time.
On May 31 of 2014 the first Rock and Ride for the Cure was held. Originally created by family and friends to raise funds for Bruce’s escalating medical bills and treatment expenses, Bruce realized the potential RARFTC had to help others.
Understanding the suffering pancreatic cancer has on all those diagnosed, Bruce wanted Rock and Ride for the Cure to become an annual event so it could continue to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research.
As Bruce became sicker, he asked that we continue RARFTC. Bruce also asked that funds raised be directed to the Pancreas Center at the Columbia University Medical Center, the only one treatment center he visited that offered him real hope.
The mission of the Pancreas Center at the Columbia University Medical Center is:… to be a center of excellence dedicated to decreasing the burden of pancreatic cancer; the Pancreas Center provides outstanding medical care, undertakes breakthrough research, pioneers prevention and early detection techniques, educates patients and clinicians, and trains physicians to become experts in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, all with the goal of making the disease a controllable illness.
We are honored to continue the RARFTC in Bruce’s memory. His fighting spirit remains an inspiration for all of us. It is our goal to make RARFTC a premier annual fundraising event and make it a significant source of funds for pancreatic cancer research.
