If you know the name Steve White, you will probably know him as a son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, teammate, bandmate, father, coworker or amazing cook; he’s the guy who makes you laugh, feel loved, reassured and safe. Now it’s time for all of us to show Steve and his family how much he has touched our lives and to show our support as he enters yet another battle. Steve has had a long, difficult, medical journey. The constant joke is that he is like a cat (9 lives), yet he faces adversity with an attitude that inspires us all.

Presently, Steve faces a new medical battle; we don’t yet know if he will be ok or to what extent he will recover. If recovery is possible, he may well be in hospital for a long time, and may have a difficult rehab. We are unsure at this time when (and if) he will return to work.

Steve has suffered an abdominal aortic aneurysm and which resulted in clotting in his leg and foot. He was in terrible pain the past few days and was finally admitted to hospital. After being admitted, Steve was sent to surgery Wednesday night to deal with the clot in his leg. Doctors were able to put a stent in his abdominal aortic area. The stent goes to his kidneys and down both of his legs. Now we wait to see if the blood supply will return to his foot. If they are unable to get the blood flow to return, there is the possibility of amputation of his toes, and part ,or all, of his foot.

As with any surgery, it can cause stress on the body, and Steve’s heart is currently feeling this stress. After surgery his platelets dropped (sign of the body protecting against a heart attack). Steve’s heart needs to rest and heal. Hopefully he won’t need any more surgeries, but may need some different medications.

As Steve has been dealing with his serious heart issues from a very young age (31 when he had his first heart attack); he also faced stage 4 large b cell central nervous system lymphoma in his 40s: insurance companies will not touch him. This leaves him, Christina, Griffin, Katie and Avery vulnerable, and in a difficult situation when faced with medical emergencies. His health coverage for these medical emergencies is bleak, at best. Faced with the possibility of a reduced income for an extended period of time, this family needs our help.

This is where we all come in! We want Steve and his family to focus on his health.. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and would ease the burden that Steve, Christina and the kids face; we want to allow them to focus on Steve’s recovery.
