The past 2 years have been one heck of a time. During the epidemic I discovered I had breast cancer and last year I completed two rounds of chemotherapy. I am now cancer free and must do a round of radiation. I've had eight surgeries since December 31, 2020. On November 3rd, I was feeling great decided to go out to dinner. I just bought a car, I have been without a car for a year and a half because of dealing with the cancer. I had not been carless in 50 years. I was so happy and feeling good. I got dressed with clothes I've been keeping in the closet. I had dinner with Cheryl Jackson and Linda P and I was so glad they were there with me. On my way to the bathroom, I somehow fell, I was not dizzy and I had nothing to drink. All I remember is being on the floor and praying to God that I was not going to be paralyzed. An ambulance was called and I was taken to the hospital. On November the 5th, I was operated on my 5th and 3rd vertebrae, a rod was placed in my back. Yesterday I finally came home from rehab with a walker a wheelchair and home services. I have to learn how to walk without the Walker. But I can walk, and I am not paralyzed. My neurosurgeon said I will have a complete recovery, but it will take some time and treatment. I have good days and I have bad days which is expected. During my rehab stay in hospital station I have been supported by my friends Donna Alexander ,Yolanda Linda, Trenia, Pat, Gena, Joyce, Sandi Kell-Valente ,my brother Ricky, my niece Brandi Mitchell, my cousin Tonya Hardy , my nephew Michael Mitchell . My daughter Keisha Thompkins and since yesterday definitely I have to say Courtney have stepped up to the plate to be a great help. So many of you have called that I'm not going to name keep naming a lot of people to let you know that I think about you and have greatly appreciate the offers of help.
