Rise In Love Foundation

From Vandee Crane

We are raising money for a down payment towards purchasing a piece of Land in the Pecos River Valley, to build on the Land, to maintain this healing sanctuary for BIPOC Women, a retreat where we can heal and remember.

More Info

My name is Vandee Crane. I am a descendant of the Osage Nation on my Mothers side and Eastern Band Cherokee and French-Basque on my Father's side. I am adopted into Oglala and Mni Cojou Lakota Families. My Native name is Good Strong Heart Woman. Today I am a strong confident survivor of child sexual exploitation and trafficking, but that wasn't always part of my story.

For 13 years I was suicidal and addicted to drugs and alcohol. I never thought that healing was possible for someone like myself. I thought I was past the point of no return and that I would never know hope or gratitude. Today my Heart is filled with both, but I had to fight and work tirelessly to forge a road of healing that was capable of supporting me in that healing. As Indigenous Womxn we are up against impossible odds, but if anyone can achieve the impossible, it is us as Native Womxn. It seems that nearly everything has been weaponized against us: our tribal governments, our men, even our own cultures. But we are RESILIENT.

This Land nestled in between the Pecos River and a mesa with cliff dwellings is located along the historical Long Walk of the Dinetah. Covered with cedar trees, pinon trees, and rock sculptures formed by volcanic lava flows, this Land offers the perfect environment for Women to reconnect to their bodies and spirits while reconnecting to the Land, while sharing Medicines and Moon Teachings. The house on the Land is appropriately named the 'Moon House' and the Project that it will host is the Cekpa Hoksi Wisdom Circle. Cekpa Hoksi refers to the umbillical cord in the Lakota Language.

We host Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), Womxn and their families in need of a foundation on which they can build their recovery,  by offering a Safe Home rooted in the Traditional Indigenous Values of Family, Respect, Prayer, Generosity, Courage, and Balance.

We cannot complete this vision without your support. Please consider supporting us in our healing while we support each other.

Wewina! Wado! Wopilla!

Update #1

We are grateful for our first couple of donors today, taking the time to contribute to reparations on what is a holiday for most and a day of mourning for those who remember the real history of how Thanksgiving began. Extremely grateful to those that took the time to donate today
