More Info

Community support, one donation at a time, can provide much needed support for this family and will help them gradually see the world, and local community, as a warmer, kinder place.  The Reynaga-Reyes family has suffered an enormously tragic loss.  The parents, Moises and Marina Reynaga-Reyes, are heartbroken, and struggling with new realities.  While riding as passengers in a car driven by an acquaintance unfamiliar to the parents, their 12 and 16 year old sons, Erik and Aldo, were killed, and their 18 year old son, Jesus, is left with probable lifetime paraplegia.  They feel blessed to still have a 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter at home, but they must rebuild their lives emotionally and financially, from a tragic position they could never have imagined.

Moises and Marina have delivered exceptional weekly gardening and housekeeping services to us for over 6 years.  They are exceedingly hardworking, loyal and responsive.  Before the accident, Jesus would accompany his father at work and taxi his mother to her jobs when he was not in school.  Since his recent graduation from high school, he enthusiastically took up landscaping work with his father full time, and had enrolled at Foothill Community College.

My wife and I have already given a large donation to Moises and Marina to help them through the first days of this tragedy, but they face looming funeral expenses, medical bills and treatments, loss of income, and lifestyle alterations to accomodate a paraplegic 18 year old son who will need rehabilitation and a replacement livelihood.  Emotional needs for themselves and their three surviving children, ages 6-18 will also need to be addressed.  Please donate to help this hardworking family to get back up on their feet, and to regain their optimism and trust in a warm, caring, nurturing world, despite the tragic and difficult path they journey.

92.1% of donations to fundly.com will go directly to Marina and Moises as beneficiaries.  7.9% is deducted for website and processing charges.  If you desire 100% of your donation to get to the beneficiaries, please send a check or wire transfer to "Reynaga-Reyes Memorial Fund", Account "# 2886346168", Wells Fargo Bank, 100 Main Street, Los Altos, California 94022.  Branch phone number is 650 947-1640.

Funeral sevices for Erik and Aldo Reynaga-Reyes:

Visitation (opoen coffin) will be Thursday Feb 14 4-9 pm at Redwood Chapel, 847 Woodside Road, Redwood City.

Funeral Mass followed by burial will begin Feb 15 at 10 am at St Anthony's Church, 3500 Middlefield Road, Menlo Park.
