My name is MacKenna and I am 17. Due to circumstances outside our control, my sibling, father and I are trying to raise money to secure our Visas and return to be with my mother in Scotland, before it is too late.
Another big thank you to everyone who has donated so far. The past several weeks have been super tough, but thanks to you, we are one step closer to getting home.
However, we're not out of the woods yet. As I said before, I lowered our goal to £4,500 as opposed to the £6,000 it was before. This is because our focus has shifted slightly. All we need is another £1,000 to do my dad's visa. After that, we could try and figure things out a bit on our own. Once we're home, we'll be able to work and make money ourselves. The big thing is getting home. We HAVE to do that before we can do anything else.
We've raised £1,000 before and I believe we can do it again. It is due to the support of people like you who have donated that we were able to. If everyone could please keep sharing this and donating, we can go home and begin to take care of things ourselves.
Thank you again to everyone for being so kind and supportive in this incredibly difficult time.
A big thank you to everyone who has donated since the last update!
Unfortunately, we have yet to get the money we need in order to go home. I've extended the deadline on this fundraiser so it will keep going for the next three weeks, along with decreasing the goal to £4,500. That is the bare minimum we need to pay for visas and buy tickets home. Any extra will, of course, be deeply appreciated and go towards things like paying rent and debts. If everyone could please keep sharing this fundraiser and donating, that would be great.
A bit of good news!
The paperwork we were waiting for in order to apply for our visas has finally come in. We have sent out the application for my visa, pulling us one step forward. Unfortunately, this is no guarantee that I will be able to go home - my visa has to be approved before my birthday.
However, we are choosing to stay optimistic! We're one step closer to getting home!
Once again, I must request that everyone continues to donate and share this fundraiser. The visa applications are expensive, and we still don't have my mother's student loan. We cannot afford plane tickets or to apply for the other visas we need.
Thank you so much to everyone for your continued support! Please keep sharing!
A big shout out to Joan Carrier for her repeated donations and support! We are so incredibly thankful for your help.
Another thank you to everyone who has donated on PayPal, including the wonderful Heidi Toala for her super-generous donation!
We are so grateful to everyone who has been donating and supporting us through all of this. This has been very difficult for all of us. The assistance of our friends and loved ones has been invaluable in getting us through this. We are nearly there.
I'd like to start off with a big thank you to everyone who has donated via PayPal! Your contribution means so much to us.
We are on the path to returning home. The paperwork that we require should be available to us on Monday. We are hopeful, but no less stressed. If we do not get the paperwork by Monday, my parents will begin a separate visa application for me so that I can try and get my visa before my birthday.
It's the same as it has been. Slow and stressful, but hopeful. Home feels closer than before.
With this, however, please do not stop donating or sharing this fundraiser. We still don't have the money we need to pay for all our visas, along with plane tickets home and to cover other expenses.
Please keep sharing and keep donating if you are able. Thank you again.
First, a big thank you to those who have donated since I last updated.
Unfortunately, things are not going well. It seems like I may not be able to get my visa on my own and we may have to get it all together. Worse yet, we don't have the money for all of us to begin the process of getting our visas.
We are trying to do odd jobs online to raise money but it is difficult. Between this and growing deadline, we are all on edge.
Again, I ask that everyone please continue to share and donate to our fundraiser. If you see it online, please share it. If you're comfortable reaching out, ask others to share or donate.
This is the first time my birthday has felt more to me like a sentence to punishment than a day of celebration.
Firstly, thank you to everyone who has helped this fundraiser get to where it is. I am deeply appreciative of all your donations and support.
Unfortunately, we are still waiting. The paperwork and money required for all of us to go home have yet to arrive. The further we get through the month, the antsier we become. While we are continuing to be positive and holding out hope that it will be here soon, I can help but to feel nervous.
The money we have collected thanks to all your helpful donations is enough to pay for at least my visa, but we need the paperwork for that.
Regardless, we are optimistic. We will be okay. We just have to get there.
Thank you again to all the support, donations and words of kindness. You have no idea how much it means to us. Please, please, please continue to share this fundraiser. We just want to go home.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far! This week my mother received notice from her university that we should have the funding paperwork that we need by Friday or Monday, hopefully. We're still nervous because we have not received the student loan payment, which will give us the money we need to pay for the visas. Nonetheless, we have high hopes that it will be here soon and we can all go home.
Thank you again to those who have donated. Please share our link as often as you can to get our story out there. We are beyond grateful for any and all support.
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
