Hello!
We have exciting news, we are expanding our Gratitude Gifts to include one bronze 'Ice Princess' for every $500+ donation. If you have already donated that amount, Congratulations! 'Ice Princess' is a limited edition RBG iconic design originally created in the 1980's, and we are so happy to show our thanks by giving you this sculpture for your donation of at least $500. Visit www.gottschallsculpture.com > Bronze Gallery to view a picture of 'Ice Princess'.

We have been working hard on Bob Gottschall's move and have made our first 2 day trek from Wimberley to Santa Fe successfully, carrying a large bulk of equipment, sculptures and belongings. Thank you to all the wonderful generous and supportive people who have donated to our cause in helping Bob successfully move. We're, not there yet, there is still much work to be done!

There is still a lot to do and large expenses to cover, with the bigger bulk of Bob's belongings still in Texas and the demands of affording the cost of equipment, labor, rent on his home and studio in Santa Fe, NM, still looming ahead. Please consider any amount to donate to this very worthy cause of supporting one of our Living Legacy's in completing this move and returning to his sculptures.

Thank you!

More Info

For 50 years, Robert Byron Gottschall has been a sculptor of walnut burl, stone, and bronze.  Due to the death of his beloved wife, he must vacate the property he has lived and worked on for the last 20 years in Wimberley, TX. Bob has chosen to see this forced move not as a tragedy, but as a blessing that is leading him to the next stage in his evolution as an artist, mentor and father. This blessing needs your help!

Bob will return to Santa Fe, NM where he lived in the 80's, to live, work and be near his daughter and grand daughter. He is presently in the process of clearing, packing and moving approximately 30 tons of collected burl, marble, equipment, tools and sculpture. The largest bulk of this will go into short-term storage in Texas until Bob has found land to settle his permament residence and studio on. The remaining bulk will be loaded into a moving truck and trailer and brought to his temporary studio at Shidoni Galleries. In this studio, Bob will continue creating magnificent sculptures and the planning of Earth Light Institute, a school for carving and creative exploration.

Our goal is to reach $32,500. The money we are able to raise will allow Bob to re-establish his home and business and to resume full-scale production and teaching. Under the umbrella of Earth Light Institute, Bob will continue his unique exploration of burl, bronze, and marble, and offer aspiring artists the opportunity to learn his intuitive and intimate approach to revealing the images that nature has placed within its materials. We invite you to view Bob's work on his website: GottschallSculpture.com

Cost Breakdown of $32,500

  • Packing, Moving and Storage - $9,600
  • Transport - $1,300
  •  Equipment - $1,200
  •  Santa Fe Studio w/ Studio Assistant Pay x 4 months- $11,000
  •  Santa Fe Home Rental x 4 months - $3,400
  •  RBG Studios LLC Office Costs x 4 months - $6,000

In gratitude for your generous donation, Bob offers his thanks:

  • Donations $5,000+ will receive one bronze 'The Spark'
  • Donations $500+ will receive one bronze 'Ice Princess'
  • Donations $200 - $999 will receive a limited edition giclee of RBG original sculpture signed by the artist

This complex relocation and exciting renaissance needs your support, no amount is too small! We are eternally grateful for your generosity and support!
