Charles, my husband & Darian our son were in a serious car accident November 7th. This fund will help to give financial relief during the healing process. Let's do all we can to help this family through their hardship!

Every parents worst nightmare is to get in a car accident with their child.
On Thursday November 7th, 2019 Charles was driving Darian when he felt a seizure starting to come on. He'd been cleared to return to work and drive after three months of being seizure free. Charles tried to get to the shoulder before the seizure hit, but didn't make it there before seizing. They clipped another vehicle (all passengers are fine) before hitting a pole head on. As the seizure passed, Darian unbuckled himself and tried to wake his daddy. He looked for Charles phone and was able to communicate his mother's cell number and old address to the EMS. Charles sustained injuries to his hip and arm, but has been released to heal at home. Darian has multiple fractured ribs, an air pocket in his lungs, a kidney laceration, neck injury, and a level 4 of 5 trauma to his spleen. The family is very thankful that the carseat did its job and kept Darian securely fastened during the impact.
At this time Darian is still in the pediatric icu and has a fever that is being monitored. They are still hopeful to avoid surgery and are taking it day by day. Charles will be unable to work or drive for several months again until the seizures are back under control. Unfortunately, Charles has had well over 10 ambulance rides in the past 2 years and has been hospitalized twice this year alone for his epilepsy (which only started 2.5 years ago), each stay lasting nearly a full week.
Financial contributions to this family will help them manage their medical bills (already totaling over 200k prior to the accident), and provide relief for the day to day expenses they would otherwise have covered by Charles's income. Any and all help is greatly needed and appreciated.
We are all home and healing now. Darian and his father will continue to stay home and heal and be followed by neurosurgery and trauma at the clinic level. I will work when possible and very grateful to my employer for allowing such a flexible schedule. I will be coordinating multiple follow up appointments and figuring out the web that is Health and Human services. It is very unlikely that my husband will be cleared to continue working in his current field so any continue support by sharing our story will benefit my family as we get through this.
