This fundraiser is a call to action, a relief fund created specifically for the women that have never been compensated for their work with RVA Fashion Week. We've heard horror stories of models working 16-hour days throughout the week with no food and no pay. We've listened to the complaints of makeup artists working 12+ hours at a time without being compensated or appreciated. We've heard from photographers and videographers who have never benefitted from being a part of RVA fashion week amidst NEVER being paid. With so many significant sponsors involved, where is the money going? Why aren't we normalizing FAIR pay for women working in fashion?

Jimmy Budd recently attempted to sabotage the support of the Afro-Vegan Social by threatening the models that work with RVA Fashion Week. He's insinuated that if models from RVA Fashion week work with the Afro-Vegan Social, they won't be able to benefit from RVA fashion week in the future. He's even cited that one of the organizers is a reverse racist. We're incredibly puzzled at his behavior because RVA Fashion week has been exploiting women for years.

If you've been affected over the years by the mistreatment of RVA FASHION week, please reach out. Your story will remain anonymous, and we are here to support you. All Funds donated will be dispersed amongst all models, makeup artists, videographers, photographers, and production workers affected by RVA Fashion Week. Funding will also be used to help create safer spaces for women in the future.
