Just before Thanksgiving, Dina suffered a devastating stroke that destroyed the language center in her brain and took the rug out from under her and her only son, Casey. Dina lives alone and thankfully happened to be on the phone with a coworker who called an ambulance when they noticed she wasn't speaking coherently.

I'm creating this campaign because Dina and Casey need the help of community right now. As Dina's only child, Casey has been taking on the financial burden that always follows these shattering life events and just trying to keep the ship afloat. Unfortunately funds are running dry and he has expressed worry of the possibility of losing her house, car and not being able to get her monthly bills paid. They are trying to work with her Insurance company, but they are demanding a personal letter of appeal from Dina (a feat that is impossible given that her language center is not functioning)  before they disperse any type of compensation.

Casey had just recently moved away from home for the first time to pursue a new career and has been having to take time away from his apprenticeship to be with his mother. Splitting time and travel with his aunt, they've managed to keep someone by her side.

While they wait for insurance and other avenues of income to align, I wanted to create this campaign with hopes that we can all come together to raise some money as a cushion; to maybe ease the financial burden and take a lot of stress of of Dina, Casey and the rest of the family.

Any donation large or small is greatly appreciated!

Happy Holidays, may we all be grateful for our blessings and in turn lend out a hand to help others up when they are down.
