Refugee Relief Collective is helping provide aid in refugee camps around the world during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Coronavirus is an imminent threat to worlds 70 million displaced people, from Syria to Afghanistan, and Africa to India. As COVID-19 cases begin to rise among the world's most vulnerable populations - the poor and displaced, people living in crowded refugee camps are most prone to catching the disease and time is running out to prevent the pandemic overwhelming parts of the developing world. Many refugees are living in over-crowded spaces with no running water and proper health system. My organization is dedicated to organize funds to go towards different projects including Syniparxi, Movement on the Ground, and UNHCR that help work with newly arriving refugees in one of BBC's documented worst refugee camps in Europe - Moria Camp - with a capacity of TWO thousand individuals, currently over-crowded with twelve+ thousand individuals.
What is a "Refugee"?
"A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Most likely, they cannot return home or are afraid to do so. War and ethnic, tribal and religious violence are leading causes of refugees fleeing their countries" (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. (1972). UNHCR. Geneva: United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
