My name is David Jones and I am proud to announce my re-election for Ward 8 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for Single Member District 8C04 in the District of Columbia.
Neighbors and Residents of Ward 8 Single Member District 8C04:
I still believe in you, and I’m asking you to keep believing in me. I told you in 2016 that I will never be a perfect Commissioner. But I promised you then that I would work hard, that I would always put the interest of the residents of 8C04 first, that I would tell you where I stood on each issue, and that I would fight for you every chance I got. And I have kept that promise. And I will continue to keep that promise as long as I have the privilege to be your Commissioner.
I’m asking you to stand with me again, fight with me with again, and support me for another 2 years. I guarantee you, we will move this District forward. We will finish what we started. Still Building Better Together. Just now with more Progress!
When you voted for me, you voted for action. In the coming weeks and months, I am looking forward to continuing to reach out and work with residents, community stakeholders, ANC 8C, Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White and District agencies to meet the challenges we can only solve together. Caring for our seniors. Advocating for Affordable Housing. Providing Safe Spaces for our Youth. We've still got more work to do.
As your Commissioner, I have worked to maintain open lines of communication. Whether by email or by phone, I am always here to listen to your concerns and to be accessible should you need any assistance. Over my time as your Commissioner, I have developed meaningful relationships with District government officials and leadership. I will continue to utilize these relationships to get things done for us.
I am asking for your support for another term so we can continue our forward progress. I will continue to fight every day to make sure we are a part of the conversation and have a seat at the table by providing honest, transparent and effective representation for the citizens of our district.
We must ensure that jobs, trade training, career building, and entrepreneurship opportunities are continuing to be brought to our area. We must ensure that any future economic development does not mean displacement for life long residents. We must ensure our youngest residents remain safe while going to and from school. If re-elected as your Commissioner, I will continue to be a relentless advocate for the issues that matter most to our community.
Together, we'll continue to build bridges of opportunity -- in caring for our seniors, advocating for affordable housing, improving communication and providing safe spaces for our youth that helps our families move from survival to stability and onto success and significance.
I need your help and support leading into Election Day, November 6. Just like 2 years ago, we are running a grassroots campaign and can't do this alone. Contribute today any amount up to the maximum of $25. No amount is too small.
Your contribution will help with campaign costs such as printing and mailing campaign mailers to all residents of district 8C04. In addition, your dollars supply resources to go door-to-door to build relationships and be both visible and approachable.
Together, we will fight every day for a seat at the table of progressive and transformative change.
Together with your help and God's grace, we will continue our journey forward and remind all 8 wards just why it is that we live in the greatest single member district in the District of Columbia.
