Randy Torrez

Randy Torrez passed away unexpectedly on November 25, 2013.  Randy was a standout athlete at College Park High School earning all league honors as a running back in 1966.  He was proud to have served his country in the USMC as a LCPL from 1967-68. Oorah!  He was decorated with a Purple Heart after being wounded in action in Vietnam.

He was a dedicated coach, mentor and friend..  He coached at JOBL, Pleasant Hill Rebels and College Park High School.  He touched so many lives with his love for life and his passion for coaching the game.

Randy wanted to make sure that every child who wanted to play sports was given that opportunity.  He often spent his own money to buy equipment for kids that couldn't afford it and make sure that no child missed out on the opportunity to grow through participation in sports.

In Randy's memory we have established the Randy Torrez Scholarship Fund to provide an opportunity for underprivileged children to play sports.  Your contribution will go to aid Randy's wish that every child be provided the opportunity to be a member of a team regardless of their financial situation.Thank you for your support!
