Have you ever met someone who just changed your life? Who changed your perspective? Who makes you reassess your life and priorities? It happens to our family frequently. We host orphans from Eastern Europe. Every.single.kid we have hosted, has opened our eyes, our minds, and our hearts to orphan care.
When the boys pictures were put in front of us...neither of us jumped up and down. Fifteen year old boys from Eastern Europe? We don’t know anything about teen boys. This sounded scary as their solemn pictures laid there. What could we offer them? Wouldn’t they be bored here?
God’s plan is bigger than ours, and after much thought and reflection we said yes to host Oleg and then yes to Stanislav. And after a summer of loving and laughing with our boys, we know that life is better with them here in America. Each boy has been asked if they want family, and each said yes. So it’s time to bring them home.
