Robert, Eric and Dhruv are racing across India from Kerala to Rajasthan (1700 miles) in an auto-rickshaw to raise funds for women entrepreneurs who are building solar-based businesses in rural Karnataka.
Buys a solar mini light.
Buys a solar study lamp. Especially important in rural areas during the school year.
Buys a solar lantern.
Buys solar panels and lights for an entire rural home.
Robert, Eric, and Dhruv are racing from Kochi, Kerala to Jaisalmer, Rajasthan as part of the Rickshaw Run. The Rickshaw Run is, in its own words, a “pan-Indian adventure in a 7 horsepower glorified lawnmower. The Rickshaw Run is easily the least sensible thing to do with two weeks”.
The start and end points are about 1700 miles apart. We start on January 2nd, 2017 and (hopefully) arrive by the 14th.
Your donation will go to a project to provide seed funding and training to five women from underserved areas who will run a solar store autonomously. The project will be led by TIDE, an organization that does awesome things like run a Technology Park for women, where they provide technology training and explore technologies to improve life in rural India.
