To support the material needs of our coordinators & active members during this crisis - lost wages, rent, utility bills, food, childcare, & other basic needs. Donations go directly to our fiscal sponsor, United Workers.
Wow! We are over 50% of the way there! Thank you sooo much to everyone in our community who has supported this fundraiser so far. Projects of survival are critical of us to make it through this crisis. Put People First! PA uses the term "projects of suvival" to describe the ways that we take care of our people WHILE we organize to change society. Our We draw on the legacy of the Black Panther Party free health clinics and free breakfast programs as well as the National Union of the Homeless housing takeovers. Wow! We're almost 50% there! Your support helps our leaders continue to take powerful action throughout this crisis - making our Healthcare Rights Committees centers of political gravity for their areas - to unite the working class, push for our human right to healthcare and fight poverty, racism, environmental devastation, the war economy and the distorted moral narrative of white supremacist Christian nationalism!
On a recent virtual popular education school with leaders from Alabama, a participant who had visited Put People First! PA during the summer of 2019 for an organizing school described how what she learned with us helped her organize more effectively to fight racism, poverty and environmental devastation in Alabama. When you support the leaders of Put People First! PA, you're supporting organization of the poor and dispossessed working class around the country!
Even though we can't be together like we are in this picture, we are doing all of our meetings, events, educationals and actions online! Check out this video of Tammy Rojas, a coordinator who has benefited from the Community Care Fund in the past! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2230798270278520
