More Info

I am like many – no special talent but a passion to volunteer and support worthy causes. Like you I believe the ordinary people can make extraordinary things happen around the world. One day I walked in to the SJMF studio on a mere whim. Hidden in an old building in an ordinary part of town, the studio was small, dingy and frankly not very impressive. But I saw amazing things being done, by dedicated volunteers like us, to promote artists and their talents. And I was hooked…

YOUR DONATION IS 100% TAX DEDUCTABLE

First things first! If you decide to donate, please know that the St. Joseph Music Foundation (SJMF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation run by volunteers and devoted to helping all musicians, performing artists, visual artists, sound techs, support persons and music lovers from all over. 100% of donations are used for our programs and there is no administrative waste of your money. Remember I told you the studio is small and dingy – that’s because we don’t spend your money on expensive office space or equipment we don’t need.

HELP MOVE MUSICIANS FROM THE GARAGE TO PRIME TIME

Talent is all around us – brothers, sisters, friends, parents, students, veterans. We all start in our basements and garages. Many of us have talent but no guidance or resources to take the next step. SJMF has a studio to record and air music of local artists/bands. SJMF presents free seminars for musicians to help them move from their garage or basement to prime time such as incorporating, getting royalties, copyright issues, promoting musicians, etc. Their website also contains a massive amount of information, documents and links.

FREE STAGE TO PLAY IN FRONT OF HUNDREDS OF MUSIC LOVERS

SJMF hosts community concerts and festivals that provide a stage for artists to promote themselves for free to the public. Our annual JoeStock Festival in now in its 5th year and will offer 30 musicians and high-school bands a FREE venue to play their music in front of hundreds of people. There is never a fee for the artist or the hundreds of music lovers that attend. I attended the kick off to this year’s festival and was blown away by the talent (SEE PICTURES ABOVE). But as I spoke with the artists some mentioned never recording an album or playing professionally as they don’t know how. Well, the SJMF aims to change all that by mentoring them for FREE and putting their music on the air!

HELP STRUGGLING MUSICIANS IN TIME OF NEED

The Foundation organizes community service projects for the benefit of persons and families in need. "Musical Minds" program provides instruments and instruction for those who may not be able to afford them. SJMF offers an Internship program for university students with participants from as far away as University of Nebraska in Peru, Nebraska.

MUSIC HALL OF FAME

The purpose is to recognize and preserve the ever-changing history of music. The Hall represents all genres of music and related fields and recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to music. It is incorporated as part of the St. Joseph Music Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation.

LIVE MUSIC ONLINE FOR FREE 24/7/365

The Foundation operates a free online radio station and song requests can be made directly on-line. And remember those artists I mentioned earlier that have been playing in their garages? I hope to have their music brought to you online and on the air soon.

PUT US ON CLOUD 9

So, help us put each of these talented artists on the air. We already have FCC approval to air at 99.3 FM and have knowledgeable volunteers to air sweet music on the air FREE to you – we already do it online and have since 2007! But Congress has eliminated grants for public radio stations. So please donate for a worthy cause and hopefully your favorite music or musician will play on 99.3 FM.

LISTEN TO US ON WWW.STJOSEPHMUSICFOUNDATION.ORG

Irrespective of whether you decide to support our noble cause, please listen to our free onlive (and soon free on air) music channel at www.stjosephmusicfoundation.org. Don’t forget to send us your request for your favorite song or singer and most importantly, have a musical day!
