We are looking to raise money for our upcoming nursing service trip to San Juan, PR. The community is very much in need right now and we would like to fundraise so we can bring over toiletries and other needed supplies.
Hi everyone! We are four senior nursing majors at Fairfield University. For our Population Health clinical, we have chosen to spend our spring break in San Juan, Puerto Rico this upcoming March. There, we will be providing much-needed education to the general public on emergency preparedness and disaster relief, as well as performing general health screenings.
In the wake of the devastating effects that Hurricane Maria had on the island in September 2017 and the continual earthquakes and aftershocks that are currently striking the island, the community is in a current state of need.
Through this fundraiser, we are hoping to raise money so that, along with our clinical skills and health education, we can bring over supplies that are currently in demand, such as tooth and hairbrushes, socks, hand sanitizer, deodorant, and razors. These supplies were specifically reported to us by La Fondita de Jesus, the organization we will be working with during our time in Puerto Rico.
