Welcome to the Ubuntu Project fundly page! We are delighted that you are paying our page a visit.

This past summer we (Elizabeth Patterson & Amber Lodman) participated in an NYU study abroad program in South Africa. We were able to study education and social reform with an intellectually stimulating cohort under the tutelage of Professor Teboho Moja.

The courses we took while in South Africa allowed us to visit a range of schools; we observed rural no fee schools, special schools for differently-abled students who face physical and intellectual challenge along with middle income and affluent institutions.

This inspired us to develop ways in which we could affect the lives of the students we met along the way.

We have started with a fundraiser entitled The Ubuntu Project to benefit the Reinotswe special school and Bachana Mokwena school of Garankwa in South Africa by providing funds for infrastructure building as well as dining halls for meals. The actual fundraiser event will be held on Friday November 8th, 2013 at 14A Washington Mews NY, NY 10003. from 6:00-9:00pm.

Thank you for your support!
