"Let us try to act and live in such a way that no one in our homeland would lack a roof over their heads and bread on the table, so that no one would feel lonely, left unattended." - Pope John Paul II
In the face of the tragedy that is happening in Ukraine, we want to make every effort to join forces, hearts and faith (which is the strongest). Regardless of religion, nationality, color of skin and political beliefs, expressing our empathy not to the system but to ordinary people, like ourselves.
The people of Ukraine are experiencing horror, losing their homes and being forced to flee from their homeland. Families are forced to separate; women, children and the elderly seek refuge in neighboring countries while the men and those who feel strong (such as the retired and students) fight for their homeland, for home, for existence. They are not soldiers, they do not form an army, and yet their heroic attitude allows them to resist the soulless and ruthless force of the enemy.
We turn to you, dear friends, neighbors and people of good will, to pray for Ukraine, for a nation that wants freedom and independence, for their bright sky to be free from the black clouds from explosions.
Prayer is stronger than the strongest enemy!
For our part, as shipping from the US is expensive and/or slow, we are organizing a collection of funds needed to purchase essential supplies for the Ukrainian refugees in Poland (i.e. blankets, bed sheets, towels, sleeping bags, flashlights, canned food, diapers, formula milk, hygiene products, dressings, bandages, medicines, water and much, much more).
We have set up this Fundly account for this purpose, to which you can donate any amount you wish. Every $1 is tremendously valuable and goes 4x as far in Poland as it does in the United States. Our support will be directly transferred to our long time friend Iwonka Głowa. Iwonka manages a pharmacy in the Polish city of Kraków and will be purchasing the supplies and delivering them to donation centers in Poland. We will send you photos of the purchased goods, which will be sent to the citizens of Ukraine.
If the above proposal does not inspire your confidence, you can also help the victims of the war in Ukraine by making donations through a global organization called UNICEF.
Together we can create a better world!
