Nia's House provides safe and convenient teletherapy for under-resourced, underinsured and uninsured Illinois residents. We provide therapy vouchers to people, struggling with mental health challenges who don't have adequate mental health insurance, meaning their psychological healing isn't covered by their insurance provider.
We have a heart to serve the most vulnerable in our community and often a member will begin their journey with us, having full coverage, and lose it at an integral part of their healing journey. Rather than refer or terminate services with a member we've established a therapeutic bond with, we continue assisting them on their healing journey, without pay.
Our holistic wellness, as counselors, is imperative to the community members we support, and your donation allows us to pay the overhead and direct service costs needed to continue to supporting the healing journeys of our vulnerable community members. Without your support we will have to terminate services with these members who will have to start their healing journey over, if they can find a therapist who can accommodate their inadequate coverage, something that is rare and unlikely in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
