I was molested as a child by my Mothers husband but thanks to horses I have been able to ford my way through the black tides of misery and see the beauty in the small things!! Horses have empowered me! They gave me the ability to escape from the horror that was a regular part of my childhood. I knew that on a horse nothing and no one could touch me!! Having this guiding light saved me from becoming a miserable garden that oozes anger and bitter rage! I will always have the scars, they never go away completely, but when they try to fester and pull me down I turn to aroma therapy!! Just the smell of a horse can do so much good!! Pair that with the enticing smells produced by medical marijuana my mind can open up and calm can take over. Then I’m capable of putting the turbulent thoughts out of my head and heart!!
Horses teach patience and self confidence by providing unconditional love. Horses don’t care how messed up we are if we are, as long as there is respect and kindness- trust will follow!! When a 1200 pound animal that could crush you chooses to love and respect you, you realize quickly that you can love and respect yourself. No matter how sticky and evil your trauma may be if you let the love in its can and will wash it away!! Horses remind me every day that I am more than my past!! I am a present and the future is a gift that I have the ability to give because I got better not bitter. I want to share this with as many people as I can.
It has been my dream since I was 10 years old to build a ranch. To have cabins, barns, arenas and gardens!! I will build trails with obstacles to tackle physically while we conquer the mental obstacle that hold us back in life!! It will be a wonderful place where people can stop, take a deep breath of fresh air and shed all the hindrance and stress of daily life and past trauma!! They can clear their minds and open the door to invite peace inside their souls!! After all you have to have a clear and open mind before you can confront and overcome the issues we harbor!!
Though I have had this dream for a long time the time to put it into motion is now. I need to raise money to build this from the ground up!! Literally the first step will be finding and purchasing the perfect plot of land! Then I’ll have to build the barns, arenas, trails, feed sheds and tack rooms! I’ll also have to build cabins, offices and all the other structures required to run a ranch retreat! There is tack to be acquire and the right horses to be found! Plus I’ll need some help taking care of everything so I’ll have to hire people that share my passion!! I want it to be all natural this means well will need to be dug to provide water. And solar panels or windmills to supply the power needed to operate!! There is so much to be done!! I hope you can find it in your heart to help make this a reality!!
