Pledge-a-Protester 2020 Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico

From Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountain Action Fund

Every day, our patients and staff are met with misinformation and harassment outside of our health center doors. In response, we ask you to pledge. Pledge to stand against those who wish to silence and shame us.

The need for access to sexual and reproductive health care does not disappear amid a global pandemic. If anything, the strain on the overall health care system means we must work urgently to protect access to this critical, essential health care while we all work together to end this pandemic. In times like now, we need more health care—not less.

We are facing real threats to reproductive care across our country. Anti-abortion politicians are exploiting the fear and urgency of COVID-19 to ban abortion—a new low, even for them. In the face of these thinly-veiled attacks on abortion care, we must continue to support policies and champions that will protect our rights in New Mexico during this crisis and beyond.

Health care means nothing without access. This year, support reproductive rights in New Mexico by supporting the individuals who fight for those rights every single day. Join us to pledge the protectors.

More Info

Pledge-a-Protester is an annual fundraising campaign organized by Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico (PPVNM) in response to politicians’ and protesters’ attempts to misinform, intimidate, harass, and shame our staff and patients. In the early 2000’s, these anti-choice protesters formed a campaign, known as “40 Days for Life", which organizes anti-reproductive health activists to protest outside of our health centers 24 hours-a-day for 40 days.

Our campaign, Pledge-a-Protester, serves to remind our staff and patients that we will never waver in our commitment to reproductive care, justice, and education – no matter who is pounding at our door. This is a crucial time for us to raise awareness about the very real experiences that some individuals face to access abortion services in this country. Nobody should have to face harassment or threats in order to provide or receive health care.

Last year, nearly 500 out-of-state patients visited a Planned Parenthood in New Mexico for reproductive health care they could not access at home. Today, we ask you to pledge to help us protect New Mexico’s status as a safe haven state, continue our work to protect and expand access to health care, elect reproductive health champions, and pass proactive legislation.

In spite of the protesters, radical politicians, and bad pieces of legislation, we pledge to garner the financial support needed for the political work of PPVNM to protect and expand access to the services provided by Planned Parenthood.

We will not be deterred. We will resist. We Act - No Matter What.

Under the umbrella of Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains Action Fund, Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico (PPVNM) is a 501 (c)(4) social welfare organization, conducting political advocacy to protect access to the services provided by Planned Parenthood in New Mexico. A portion of your gift may be used to support pro-choice candidates. Gifts are not tax-deductible.
