Three Boy Scouts and Three adult leaders from Troop 27 in Clarence, NY are preparing for a once in a lifetime experience at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Scouts: Cayden Decker, Stuart Jensen, Nathan Czopp.
Philmont Scout Ranch continues to positively impact young people and their scouting leaders. Hiking through the Philmont Scout Ranch is one of the highest accomplishments for young scouts. On this 12 day experience, Scouts and Leaders will hike over 50 miles in higher elevations. Our three scouts attending are Stuart Jensen, Cayden Decker and Nathan Czopp. Stuart is 15 and a Life Scout as well as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for his troop. Cayden is 14 and a First Class Scout, hoping to reach star rank by June, he is a patrol leader this year. Nathan is 13 and also a First Class Scout close to reaching his star rank, and also a patrol leader. All 3 of these scouts continue to show leadership in their troop, and continuously give back to the community through service hours and volunteering.
Although Philmont is such a wonderful experience and has effected so many scouts in a positive way, it's also very expensive. The cost is over $2500 for each scout and leader. The equipment needed for this rigorous hike is also very specific and costly. We ask that you will consider helping our scouts and leaders offset the cost of what we have heard is a life changing experience.
Stuart, Cayden and Nathan will be willing to donate their time and hard work for a donation. Anyone who donates $100 or more, they would like to spend an hour of their time doing an external chore for you. Anyone who donates $10 or more will also automatically be entered to win a $100 Amazon gift card. Our boy scouts will also be hosting a pancake breakfast (dine and donate) in the late spring. They would love to serve all their donors breakfast as well. Date to be announced in the near future.
Thank you again for considering a donation. Stuart, Cayden and Nathan along with the 3 adult leaders can't wait to share their experiences with all of you after their July Philmont hike.
