After retiring, I wanted to work in hospice. Since I have ongoing debilitating health issues I knew I could not do traditional hospice work. I needed to create my own opportunity to work from home but in a meaningful way
We are suffering and in dire need of funds. The majority of our funding comes from our Airbnb, Le Château de Chien, the name we gave our farm we purchased to create our 501c3 Nonprofit, as well as the Experiences and Classes we offer. Our location in NW Indiana makes staying here ideal for people who want to hike the Indiana National Lakeshore Dunes and Beaches and bring their dogs. Unfortunately it is seasonal and we scramble each year to make it through the winter. Having Airbnb cancel all stays and Experiences is devastating us. We were forced to file bankruptcy. The stress is taking such a toll not only on us but the 21 dogs and 2 cats in residence for life with us. As I explained to our vet this morning, we have several veterinary needs currently including dental issues, eye issues, a new tumor and updating shots and we only have $300 in Petite Trésors Rescue & Sanctuary bank account. And that does not even cover food for the month. We have no idea how we will get through the next month and we are just trying to survive day to day. Of course we do realize, so many others are experiencing severe hardships as well and we are simply looking at any means possible of keeping our doors open.
