Hello! Thank you for donating to our Period Poverty Fundraiser! We have collaborated with The Beauty Initiative to donate sanitary pad dispensers to local middle and high schools in need (Title 1 schools). The young ladies who attend these schools often come from lower-income households, some are even homeless.

A quote from The Beauty Initiative: If a female student misses school every time she has her period, she is set 145 days behind her fellow male students. Every month a female will have a menstrual cycle, every month. Is it fair that a student who may not have the means to purchase sanitary pads, or forget or surprisingly her period starts must miss school? All due to the school not having adequate supplies. Ensuring each school in the state of Florida has menstrual necessities accessible to their female population is vital.

Women understand the struggle and financial burden menstrual products place on us. Many of us are lucky to go to the store nearby and pick up a few products without hesitation. For the young ladies in these schools, this is not the case. Having access to proper products for proper menstrual hygiene is incredibly important for every woman to have throughout their lifetime.

Our goal is to donate a total of 3 dispensers (each costs $500). AMWA Davie Campus is donating one from our funds, but need help to donate 2 (or more!). This is a great opportunity to donate to a great cause! For more information, please visit our instagram page @amwa.kpcom.Davie and http://beautyinitiativeinc.org/learning-with-dignity/
