More Info

Maranatha Human Services is a small non-for-profit organization that was founded in 1988 by a group of young entrepreneurs who wanted to make a difference in the world and the lives of people.  They wished to serve the disenfranchised, the forgotten, and disabled by offering cutting-edged programs and services within their communities.

It was never the intention of the founders to become the largest non-for-profit; just simply a self-sustaining organization that offered cutting edge, accessible quality services to New York City and lower Hudson-Valley residents.

Over time Maranatha was able to successfully offer a multitude of services, including After-School Programs, Family-Support Programs, and Individualized Residential Alternative Facilities that assists those with disabilities to live independently. The operation grew large enough to employ 200+ members of the community!

However, the agency has not been able to meet its goal of being self-sustaining…as of yet.

Maranatha has reached a major cross-roads and is ready to make the leap into the private pay arena, so its services will be accessible to everyone in need as the founders always intended.

We are currently launching our new initiative, People Embracing People or PEP. It’s a program that embodies the type of care model that Maranatha always envisioned providing. PEP matches individuals with developmental disabilities to people we call caregivers. Individuals live with caregivers to promote growth, independence, and well-being in a comfortable home setting. PEP can make a major impact in the lives of the disabled, elderly and families who are struggling to survive.

We are asking you to join us in our new initiative to become a part of this great life changing work.

How can you help? Here are several ways:

Firstly We need you to help us increase our footprint by becoming involved. Visit our website and share our programs with your family, friends and network. Encourage them to do the same.

Secondly, We need you to contribute. Not a lot. But a little, because finances make it possible for us to provide high quality services and create programs for those in need. It also helps us break free from being dependent on government funding.

And lastly, Get involved by bringing your skills to the table! We want to work with talented and caring people like you, because you help make these life changing programs successful. You can learn more about working with us by visiting our website at
