The People of Dallas Houseless aid is raising money so that we may continue our community-funded food security program! Donations go immediately towards expenses for our weekly Sandwich Sunday event hosted downtown.
When the founder of Sandwich Sunday started handing out meals to houseless individuals in July of last year, she saw it as something she "could do" in light of the summer's uprisings for one of the most vulnerable communities in our city. Now, six months and several Sundays later, the crew with Dallas Sandwich Sunday has organized into the People of Dallas Houseless Aid—the mutual aid branch of the Dallas Houseless Committee, dedicated to correcting the issues of houselessness in Dallas, and confronting the system of capitalism which perpetuates them.
With the help of the community, PDHA's Sandwich Sunday program is able to provide hot meals and personal supplies to around 115 houseless or displaced individuals in the downtown Dallas area. By supporting our campaign you are supporting not only us as an organization, but every single one of our community members we are able to assist.
