Many thanks for your donations. Last year one of our facilities rescued three boaters before their boat went up in flames. Your continued support will enable us to obtain another Patrol Boat that will be able to respond to such on-the-water emergencies like this!

More Info

Nutmeg Sailing is holding this fundraiser to acquire, operate and maintain a much-needed Search & Rescue Patrol boat, which will also serve as a training platform for the Barque Eagle Division of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps to help shape our future leaders.

Patrol facilities are privately owned boats that are offered for use to the Coast Guard Auxiliary by their owners. The use of these boats depend on the availability of the owner.  This can greatly reduce their training abilities and affect readiness.  Just this past season, there were three missions that had to be canceled due to a lack of available facilities.  With a dedicated Patrol Boat provided by Nutmeg Sailing and offered for use, a facility will be available 24/7 for whatever operational need that arises.

The Naval Sea Cadet Corps promotes interest and skill in naval disciplines, while instilling strong moral character and life skills through leadership and technical programs. As an official youth organization of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, the program educates its members in America’s rich maritime traditions, and teaches them the values of professional seamanship.

We would sincerely appreciate your help with this funding project, and remember, with your donations:

·       You can help keep our waterways safe

·       You can help with training and future STEM projects for Cadets

·       You can help save lives!

As a thank you, everyone who donates will receive an 8” X 10” color photo of the Patrol Boat when it is ready for missions.

And as a special incentive, everyone who donates $250 dollars or more, will have their name placed on a wheel spinner application, and for every 10 eligible donators, we’ll spin the wheel to pick out a semi-finalist on Facebook Live.

When the campaign ends on March 30, 2018, we’ll place the names of all the semi-finalists on the wheel spinner and pick out the winner.  That person will receive a framed, 8” X 12” color photo of the Patrol Boat, signed by the Boat Crew and members of the Barque Eagle Division Naval Sea Cadets.

So please, make your contribution today! Any donation amount will help, and we ask that you would also please consider talking to your employer, many companies have an employee/company donation match policy. Corporate donations or sponsorships are always welcome. If your organization would like to participate, please contact us at skipper@nutmeg-sailing.org.

Thank you in advance for your help with this project.

We are hoping to reach our fundraising goal of $45,000 in time to have a facility ready to get underway in time for the spring 2018 boating season.

Nutmeg Sailing Society is registered with the IRS as a 501 ( c ) 3 charity.  Please speak to your tax advisor as your donations may be tax deductible.
