This is how we roll in South Main!  The sport of the ancient Romans has come to the corner of South Main at Talbot with the installation of a new South Main Bocce Ball Court.

The South Main neighborhood, along with support from the Downtown Memphis Commission and the property owner, has added a temporary bocce ball court to a vacant lot at the corner of South Main and Talbot in Downtown Memphis. This great idea came as the direct result of the South Main Design Challenge, held last spring. That design challenge asked people what they would like to see added to their community. Team Plan B, made up of neighborhood folks and people who love Memphis, developed the idea for a bocce ball court at this site. Their idea is now a reality!

Now, all we need is some furniture and site upgrades. We’re raising money to install a picnic table, a bench for bocce ball spectators or folks waiting their turn to play, and a scoreboard.

The goal is to improve our neighborhood one vacant lot at a time. Please consider being a part of this effort.
