As most of you know Addison is part of the Texas Girls’ Choir. She recently advanced to Concert Choir.
What does that mean you ask?
That means she will now begin her amazing adventures.
Texas Girls’ Choir was founded in 1962 by Shirley Thompson Carter with a belief that children's lives can be developed through the excellence of music. The girls are required to maintain a B average in school. Each girl attends an annual music clinic, charm school, and leadership training. They also have the opportunity to be a part of one of the 4 hand-bell choirs and a solo class.
This is a big commitment and takes dedication from each and every girl as well as a lot of support from their families.
Her first of many trips will be this coming summer to Washington DC, our Nation’s Capital! Points of interest may include the US Capitol building, the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, National Cathedral, Holocaust Museum, Smithsonian, the White House, and much more. This tour is going to be both educational and fun. Not only is this an adventure for her but also a learning and growing experience.
As you can see, this is quite the task Addison has taken on and with her heart and passion for music we, as her moms, support her 100%. We are working fundraisers to try and raise money to help her fund her trip but that still may not be enough. Some people have asked if they can contribute to the fund, so we have created this page. It will be used to keep you all posted on her journey with pictures and videos of Addison and her friends. It will also be the place where you can donate to help Addison’s dreams come true. Any and all donations are welcome. No amount is too small.
We are so proud of our little girl and she has already grown so much in the time she has been with the Texas Girls’ Choir. Addison loves being a part of this amazing organization (mama says it’s because she is following in her mommy’s footsteps.)
In the words of Addison, the Texas Girls’ Choir “Is my Happy Place.”
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
