To raise funds for promotion and distribution of the No Shame Left film series in an effort to make faith-based groups aware of what the Opioid Crisis looks like and how they can be part of the solution.
By now we have all heard that there is an Opioid Crisis underway throughout the United States. People from all walks of life are suffering under the weight of a deadly addiction to heroin and prescription narcotics. Year-after-year the death totals only get higher. This is a serious issue, and something we should all be concerned about. Especially those who profess the name of Christ.
Throughout history, the church has taken the lead in times of crisis. We imitate Christ by showing compassion to those hurting and in need around us. And yet something often stands in the way. Stigma. We want to help, but when we think about drug addiction, our minds quickly turn to seedy transactions, hopeless individuals and a string of bad decisions. We should be compassionate, yet we become cynical. And that's where the No Shame Left video series comes in.
These films exist to raise awareness about the Opioid Crisis and encourage the body of Christ to stand up and get involved. We have collected stories of those who have struggled with addiction and those who have suffered loss, showing how the drugs took hold and how some were able to find recovery and redemption through the Cross. Opioid addiction is a multi-faceted problem—one too big for any single church to tackle. But together we can provide help and hope to those in need.
Please check out the videos and consider giving to this project. Your support helps us make others aware of what we're doing, and allows us to connect more churches and faith-based organizations with the resources they need to begin doing ministry to those affected by Opioid addiction in their community. Specifically, we are looking to raise funds to build a custom website for the project, to run social media ads and to purchase Flash drives to load with resources and distribute at events.
The No Shame Left series is a non-profit initiative put out by the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists. For more info, visit http://centralbaptistparis.com/opioid-crisis/
