OPERATION SOCK DROP!

On Saturday February 14, 2015 Valentines Day, Fight2Feed Board of Directors and Volunteers cooked Chicken Noodle Soup from scratch and served : 204 containers of 30 oz soup = 765 servings,  30 students and 35 adult volunteers, making a total of = 830 hot meals!

Fight2Feed Board Member Anthony Martorina took additional 40 containers of hot soup and hit the on and off ramps on the Kennedy to hand out soup. Additionally Fight2Feed volunteers donated to Anthony  hand warmers, a giant tub of candy and some Gatorade. The items were well received and much needed by all to feed their bodies and hearts.

Anthony then took his wife and child to share soup with our Hungry Friends on lower Chicago. A drive he does daily and on this Valentin's Saturday he was able to help unlike other days. He even discovered an area called lower Michigan ave. We've never been there but there were many people living in total darkness. Many asked  for socks, gloves & clothes. Anthony had to leave this day but promised to return with socks

With our mission Anthony  witnessed two people who literally were able to get off the street when he shared the soup. After they packed up their stuff and were done begging for money.  A warm fully belly make a big difference.

Fight2Feed is a mission to not only to Feed our Hungry Friends in need Food  but share basic things most of us take for granted because we can, some can not. It is up to us to take care of one another and it's Fight2Feed mission to encourage Change to Happen now.

As far fetched it may seem to most, Anthony actually ran into a man who remembered him from the health club he frequented during his Fight2Feed mission. This could happen to any one of us based off of circumstances.

This is one of many Fight2Feed stories.  Our mission is to make change happen. Our mission is simple #DoSomething. We all have struggles and we all are responsible to #DoSomething to not waste  and take surplus to help those in need.  It takes a few hours of our time and a few dollars from our pockets.  The reward is ours to earn by doing a selfless acts.

Help us keep our word to our friends.  Help us return to our friends with as many Socks, Coats, Warm Clothes and  whatever we can to help keep our ChiTown Friends in need warm and safe as they journey this winter without a home or a meal.
