I have been accepted into the Masters of Fine Art (Drawing) at the New York Academy of Art beginning Fall 2020 . Donations are going towards paying tuition, housing, art materials, supplies and travel.
"Creativity takes Courage" - Henri Matisse
I understand this phrase very well. This past year, I have travelled four hours three days a week by bus from Maryland to New York. and back to attend intensive drawing classes at the New York Academy of Art. I knew this commitment was necessary to ensure I could train with the NYAA's excellent faculty to develop and master my technical skills. It was not easy, there were many times when “running on E” felt like more than just a saying but the determination paid off. I am proud to have been accepted into the only Master of Fine Arts in Drawing Program in the United States.
The New York Academy of Art is my dream school, however I cannot afford to attend without your generous donations. The school's financial aid package can't fill the gap between what the school costs and what I can afford.
A long time ago and throughout much of my life, I was told being an artist was an unrealistic dream and I should pursue other things which I did for many years. I did lose my creative path and much more on this difficult journey. But, like the terminator, I am back and determined to accomplish my goals! This is who I am, an artist, I am excited and committed to continue my studies! I feel joy knowing something I created can bring a smile to someone’s face. I realized you cannot let anything stop your light from shining, not even COVID-19.
