My grandparents Joe and Dorothy opened and ran Olivieri's Restaurant with their 7 children (Gloria, Theresa, Loretta, Pauly, Anthony, Joey and Tommy) Olivieri's was a legendary iconic family Italian restaurant that served wholesome delicious food. People drove in from miles around for a bowl of pepperoni soup, the garlic bread with cheese, or my grandmothers homemade pies and desserts. My uncles were the bartenders and cooks and the girls were on the floor while grandpa worked the room with his "Joeisms" and his Italian charm. You could find my grandmother up at dawn in the back room making desserts, peeling garlic and picking dandelion greens for her salad. Since my grandparents have passed the restaurant has been run down until the bank eventually foreclosed on the property in July 2014. My mother Gloria went to the courthouse and decided to fight to win back the restaurant! As anyone that knows her can attest - when she sets her mind to something - she makes it happen. And so she won the auction and purchased the property after being out of the family hands for over a decade. Since then she and her sisters and brothers have helped to gut the property taking away nearly 4.5 tons of trash and are now in the process of removing rotten siding, yard debris and insulation. This is were we need your help. The first phase of the property is to replace the plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. My guess is that we will have several phases of the project and depended how bad it is - could take several years to bring it back to her original glory. We hope to one day be able to Olivieri's Restaurant to continue the legacy and to be able to provide people countless more memories. On behalf of the Olivieri Family past and present - we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for you help with this amazing journey....
