Hey everyone! Just stopping by to say how grateful I am to everyone who has donated to my campaign. Everyday I feel like I am one step closer to reaching my goals. I have updated the goal and removed some of the donation perks to streamline the process. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Please keep donating and sharing.

More Info

FFS has been something I have been contemplating ever since I learned what it was.

And years ago, I finally decided it is something I need to survive.

I am a transgender woman living in Chicago, Illinois. I have had the privilege to be about a year along with hormone replacement therapy, and while I am pleased with the results and progress, I still wake up every day to look in the mirror, and see someone in the reflection that doesn't match how I feel on the inside. I struggle with severe body/facial dysphoria and its beginning to take a toll on my mental health. FFS is one step I can take to begin to feel whole. Not only will FFS help my mental health and confidence, it will provide me safety and comfort while I am walking down the street.

For me, FFS is something that will alleviate my gender dysphoria. This is not a cosmetic procedure. This is a procedure that should be considered a medical restoration/reconstruction surgery to undo the effects that testosterone has had on my face and restore my face to a point before it was changed by hormonal issues.  It is a medical necessity for my health and well-being. This is not being done so I can fit into modern day beauty standards. I just want to be able to walk down the street and have my safety ensured, and my self-image better match the me I believe I am in my head. If you can't understand that, then I am sorry. I'm not trying to look like a different person, I'm trying to look like me if I were to have gone through female puberty.

30,000 dollars is a LOT of money, and unfortunately, it probably won't even cover the total cost of the surgery, as I have yet to settle on a surgeon . Making a permanent decision to alter my physical appearance at the hands of another is something I do not take lightly, and I am seeking the absolute best to ensure the vision of who I am comes to life. My goal may be periodically updated throughout the process of fundraising to better reflect my needs after I choose a surgeon. With that being said, I have narrowed the search down to about 3 surgeons and I am estimating to pay anywhere from $40,000 to $53,000 total. Facial Feminization Surgery is probably the most expensive procedure that is done for MtF transgender women.

Your donation will be used to directly fund my transition, which is primarily saving for FFS. There are times where I need assistance paying for other costs related to my medical transition... (i.e. hormones, laser hair removal, electrolysis, etc.) I try my best to fund minor procedures myself, but occasionally when I am in an emergency circumstance, I will need to pull from these funds for my basic medical necessities, so I have added to the title "Transition Fund" to cover these costs.

I will post updates on the campaign feed, but you can also follow my life and progress on my both of my instagram accounts @averagewife and @cisgenderwoman.

Thank you for taking the time to read my campaign, and remember that literally every cent matters to me, and no donation is too small.
